Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

We are 2reb · قريب (2reb.com) — "2reb" is Arabic for soon. Your letters are yours. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use and protect it.

1. Data we collect

  • Account information: your email address and an encrypted password. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your email address and display name.
  • Letter content: the title, text, image attachments, and the delivery date you choose for your letters.
  • Technical data: your IP address (used only to prevent duplicate likes/comments and abuse) and your preferences (language, dark mode).
  • Anonymous letters: we need an email address only to verify them; it is never shown with the letter.

2. How we use your data

  • To deliver your letter to your email inbox on the date you chose.
  • To send you an optional delivery reminder one day before.
  • To run your account and keep sign-in secure.
  • To show letters in the public gallery only if you explicitly choose to share them — and always anonymously, with no information about you attached.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone for advertising. Ever.

3. Letter encryption

Letter content (titles and bodies) is encrypted at rest. It can only be read when it is delivered to you or when you open it yourself. Even site operators cannot read letters that are still sealed before their delivery date.

4. Third-party services

  • Google Sign-In: when you use it, you interact with Google under its own privacy policy. We receive only your email address and basic profile name.
  • Email delivery (Brevo): we use it to send verification and delivery emails. We share your email address, and your letter's content at the moment of sending, solely for that purpose.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for your session, plus local storage to remember your language and dark-mode preference. No tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Retention and your rights

Your letters stay yours for as long as you want. At any time you can:

  • Permanently delete any letter.
  • Delete your entire account, which removes your data from the site.
  • Request a copy of your data by emailing [email protected].

7. Children's privacy

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
